Congratulations to Paddy McGeown, who has tonight won the Golden Boot. It’s been a great contest this year. Firstly, Conaill Taggart kept the pressure on Paddy, then Brendan Blaney mounted a late challenge and almost brought it off. However, it was not to be and Paddy has been crowned as 2018/2019 Golden Boot winner.

While this is a great achievement for Paddy, his winning the Boot also creates a little bit of Aquinas history. His brother Conor was a famous blue’n’black keeper for many, many years and was the first winner of the Golden Glove award.

This means that tonight the McGeown family has become the only family in Aquinas Football Club to win both Golden awards. Well done Paddy and Conor .... and, of course, Danny, long standing Aquinas coach, of both Conor and Paddy.
