GOLDEN GLOVE – JACK RESOLVES TO KEEP ANOTHER CLEAN SHEET
Two clean sheets to mark the New Year.
Jack McCrea started 2019 the way he finished 2018 – keeping clean sheets.
Jack is now seven ahead of the chasing pack with nine clean sheets. Even though there are still four months of games still to play, no-one, surely, will catch Jack.
JacK McCrea, Sen – looks a
cert to retain the Glove.
Way way back, in second place with two clean sheets is the famous five - Pearse Lynch of the 14s, Gavin McDonald of the Seconds, Conall Bohill of the 18s, Reuban Carleton of the 17s and under 15 Star keeper, Steven Hughes. With the form Jack’s in, it surely is too much of an ask for any of them to overhaul him.
Pearse Lynch, U14 – got off to a flying start, two in his first
Gavin McDonald, Sen – he is a previous winner
but the gap is too big, surely, for Gavin to win
Steven Hughes, U15 – second place in his first
season in goals for us.
Conall Bohill, U18 – two clean
sheets in two games for this make
Reuban Carleton, U17 – two clean sheets
After Pearse, Gavin, Conall, Reuban and Steven, we now have nine keepers with one clean sheet, with Oisin Kavanagh of the 11s joining the table for the first time this week. Of the others, three are under 18, Eoghan Turkington, Stephen McVeigh and Tiarnan McCullough. Then there’s also under 17 keeper, Reuban Carleton, the 11s’ Conor Friel, under 13s’ Luke Cullinan, Conal Devlin of 14 Star and Che Clarke of 16 Star.
