There were two clean sheets this weekend, which saw two more goalies, one of last year’s winners of the Glove, Luke Kilpatrick, and stand in keeper for the 18s, Conall Bohill.
The 18s operate a kinda guest keeper routine with outfield players dropping into the role every now and again. Amazingly, the 18s have had four clean sheets this season, with four different keepers! On top of that, only one of them is actually the keeper!
Anyway, Jack McCrea is full of Christmas cheer as Advent comes upon us. He still sits ... or stands ... or leaps and plunges .... so far ahead of the rest of his peers between the nets that he is but a tiny black blob in the distance. Jack has seven clean sheets already this term.
JacK McCrea, Sen – hard to see
How he can be caught.
A fair bit back now, we have four keepers on two clean sheets - Pearse Lynch of the 14s, Gavin McDonald of the Seconds, Reuban Carleton of the 17s and under 15 Star keeper, Steven Hughes.
Pearse Lynch, U14 – sits patiently on two.
Gavin McDonald, Sen – he won it before but
Is it beyond him and all the rest of the keepers
Already this year?
Steven Hughes, U15 – or could it be new keeper,
Steven to stops Jack in his first year?
Reuban Carleton, U17 – also on two. Not
bad for someone who normally plays
outfield these days.
After Pearse, Gavin, Steven and Reuban, we have nine keepers with one clean sheet. Three of them are under 18, Eoghan Turkington, Stephen McVeigh and Tiarnan McCullough. They are now joined by Conall Bohill. Then there’s also the 11s’ Conor Friel, under 13s’ Luke Cullinan, Conal Devlin of 14 Star and Che Clarke of 16 Star. To this pack has been added Luke Kilkpatrick of the 17s, who notched up his first shut out of the campaign.
