GOLDEN GLOVE – McCREA’S AWAY
There was only one clean sheet this weekend. Guess who got it. Who else, but Jack McCrea?
That’s Jack seventh clean sheet of the campaign – and it’s not even December yet!
JacK McCrea, Sen – is it all over
This competition, with it’s long history of going to the last match of the season before we know who’s won the Glove, could be over by Christmas if Jack keeps averaging a clean sheet every two games.
That chasing pack is still lead by the foursome of Pearse Lynch of the 14s, Gavin McDonald of the Seconds, Reuban Carleton of the 17s and under 15 Star keeper, Steven Hughes. They sit on two. It’s theirs to chase, but realistically, are they in danger of being swept away in Jack’s slipstream?
Pearse Lynch, U14 – got off to a flying start, maybe he’s
Just biding his time before he strikes.
Gavin McDonald, Sen – won it before. Has he
the experience and guile .. not to mention the
hands to stop Jack?
Steven Hughes, U15 – or could it be new keeper,
Steven to stops Jack in his first year?
Reuban Carleton, U17 – could he be the
Surprise at the end of the race?
After Pearse, Gavin and Steven, we have seven keepers with one clean sheet. Three of them are under 18, Eoghan Turkington, Stephen McVeigh and Tiarnan McCullough. Then there’s also the 11s’ Conor Friel, under 13s’ Luke Cullinan, Conal Devlin of 14 Star and Che Clarke of 16 Star.
