Lughaidh Mallon was the talk of the (New)town(ards)on Friday night when the 14s saw off the opposition comfortably in Ards. The 14s had a double winning weekend when Star wrapped up the three points, and a first clean sheet for keeper Conall Devlin, at Strangford on Saturday morning.

15, 16 and 18 Star continued on where 14 Star had started with fine wins 4 – 0, 6 – 0 and 4 – 2 on Saturday morning, notching up two more clean sheets in a weekend of very solid keeping.

The 17s also ran up a comfortable 4 – 1 win up in Crumlin, with Paddy McGeown using the occasion to close the gap on Conaill Taggart at the top of the Boot table......... but more of that later!

In the afternoon, the Firsts were held 1 – 1 by Bangor while the Seconds ran out 5 – 2 winners down in Killyleagh, hey.
