The Des Brennan Trophy is awarded, generally, to an under 18 player whom, it has been felt, has represented all that is best about the club, who has been with the club from mini soccer and who has worn the shirt with pride and honour.

It really had to be …….. that man again … James Mellon.

What two things do James Mellon and Scott Brown have in common this year? They both captain their teams and they have both won the domestic treble. In James’ case Player of the Year, Players Player of the Year and the Des Brennan Trophy. It’s a famous first. No-one has ever won a clean sweep of all the trophies they could have won.

Stop smiling eventually, though, James.
