We were blessed with a little bit of rain this weekend! Only two matches that we know of went ahead. 18 Aquinas lost 2 – 1 on Friday night while at the Great Fortress of Rathmore, 18 Star won 4 – 1. Despite Aquinas’s loss both 18s sit at the top of the table for Christmas. The Firsts also sit top of Division 1C at Christmas. The 13s also remain unbeaten in all competitions, have the Supplementary cup in the (non-existent) trophy cabinet already and sit at the top of their lea
As part of our fiftieth anniversary celebrations, the club is organising a charity run on Boxing Day at the DUB. The purpose is to raise funds for Rosemount House. The details are given below. We hope as many of you can come along as possible. Run or walk off the Christmas pudding!
150 quiet children! Amazing! Many of the guys from mini soccer, under 9s, 10s, 11 and 12s traipsed down to the Cityside Centre at YorkGate on Saturday for a private showing of Ralph something or other. Anyway, I’m told it was very good and they all lived happily ever after. A big thanks to Neil for ...... well, being Neil. He organised it all, made up all the goodie bags. Arranged for goodie bags, selection boxes, ice lollies to be where they were suppose dto be, when they we
GOLDEN BOOT – SEVEN HEAVEN STILL FOR PADDY Our top two had a quiet weekend, as you’ll see from the pictures. No goals, so no change. Paddy leads by seven, 21 goals to Conall’s 14. Paddy McGeown, U17 Star – still 1st, no need to rush. Conaill Taggart, U11 – in 2nd place. He’s confident he’ll catch up, so time for a nap. Aha, though, while Paddy and Conaill have been taking it easy, scoremeister Mellon, Jow of the under 13s, has been beavering away. Another goal this weekend, s
GOLDEN GLOVE – DO WE NEED TO WAIT, JACK’S ON EIGHT? It’s beginning to look a lot like ..... (this competition could be over by) Christmas. Jack McCrea kept another clean sheet this weekend and now stands on eight ... and it’s not even Christmas yet. If you think about last year – the Glove was won with six clean sheets, Jack’s already two further on and w still have half a season to play. Jack is tearing up the Golden Glove rule book! JacK McCrea, Sen – Paddy Power on the ver
Fresh from his history making achievement of last week, Conall Bohill clearly likes this clean sheet business, keeping another this weekend, his second in two games. He was joined in the afternoon by – guess who? – Jack McCrea of the Seniors. He just can’t stop saving!
Five wins and two losses this week, with four unaccounted for. Both 13s won, 13 Aquinas still unbeaten in the league this season. Both 18s also won, with 18 Aquinas maintaining it’s title challenge as Christmas approaches. The Firsts also kept up their great start to the season with a 1 – 0 win, from Martin Ramsey, who else? They also remain unbeaten in the league this season.
Conal Bohill made a little bit of Aquinas history on Friday night, at Whiterock Leisure Centre. Conal played in nets for the 18s, keeping a clean sheet. With less than ten minutes to go, he was switched to play outfield, and promptly scored becoming the only player in Aquinas history to keep a clean sheet and score in the same match. This is not Conal’s first mention in the Book of Records. If memory serves me right, Conal has scored from kick off – three times. He is also at
GOLDEN BOOT - HAT TRICK PATRICK INCREASES LEAD Hat trick Patrick scored three this weekend to increase his lead at the top of the table to seven points. He isd now on 21 goals to second place, Conaill Taggart’s, 14. Paddy McGeown, U17 Star – scoring takes it out of you. As yes, but don’t forget that Conaill hasn’t played for four weeks – the joys of the 11+ or whatever it’s called these days. Now it’s all over and with no more learning to do for the rest of primary seven, Con
