Values
Aquinas Football Club exists to provide football training for all of its members and minisoccer and competitive league football for them, as appropriate to their age.
The club, in carrying out its mission, will strive in all its actions to:
i.ensure that its members train and play in a safe environment;
ii.assist members to improve their sporting abilities
iii.provide equality of opportunity for all members, irrespective of their sex, religion, sexual orientation, race or ability;
iv.encourage fair play and respect at all times
Membership of the club is open to all children between the ages of six and eighteen, irrespective of their sex, religion, sexual orientation, race or ability.
The club is run on behalf of and in the interests of its members by a committee of officers elected for that purpose on an annual basis at the Annual General Meeting of the club.
THE AQUINAS PRINCIPLE
In 2004/2005 Aquinas Football Club threw itself behind the creation of a second team at one age group. Since then second teams have spread, and continue to spread each year, throughout the age groups.
The creation of second teams reflects the underlying ethos and principle of the club, that no member will be turned away or be required to leave the club against his or her wishes because he or she is not the first choice in his or her preferred position.
Aquinas Football Club will do whatever it reasonably and feasibly can to ensure that all players have access to football, having regard to the need to obtain permission from the league to which the club is affiliated for the enrolment of teams over and above the first team.
CHILD PROTECTION
The club has adopted a range of Child Protection and Codes of Conduct policies. These are binding on all members, parents or guardians, coaches, officials and trustees of the club. They can be found at the download section of the website.
In addition, all Aquinas managers and coaches are fully vetted through the POCVA scheme.
