Membership Forms and Items of Equipment and Clothing

What must I have to join Aquinas?

You must bring with you to your first training session:

-a completed membership contract. This can be got from the “Dropdown” menu. Without this form, you are not insured and cannot take part in activities organised by Aquinas Football Club or the Leagues in which its clubs are enrolled.

-proof of age, if you are joining a league team, i.e. either your birth certificate, or your CSA medical card or your passport. If you are joining the under 14s or over, you have to bring a passport. The manager will need to hold onto the document for a day or two as he will need to take it down to the League’s office as proof of your eligibility. The manager will return it to you.

-Two passport photographs

-Your training fees. Fees for the 2009/200 year are £120 for the first child and £100 for each successive child. The manager will pro-rata the charge depending on when you join during the year. Aquinas charges a fee up front, after this your parents will not be asked for any further fee or charge.

What about kit and equipment for training and league matches?

Training

For training you must wear shin guards. You will not be allowed to train without them.

Depending on where your team trains governs the footwear you need. At the YMCA you should wear football boots, at the DUB and PEC you should wear moulded trainers, but not football boots.

Saturday mornings; League matches

For league matches on Saturday mornings you must bring your own football boots and shin guards. As above, without shin guards you cannot play. Your manager will supply the jersey, shorts and socks. He will also provide footballs, water bottles and a first aid kit.

Saturday mornings; minisoccer

For the minisoccer tournament at the YMCA, you should bring football boots and shin guards. The manager will provide a jersey. You wear your own shorts or tracksuit bottoms to the minsoccer tournament.

Is there anything I should not wear?

Yes.

Aquinas Football Club is open to children from seven to eighteen. The club strives to make all of our members feel welcome and valued. Consequently, the club does not allow certain kit or acce4ssories. You are not allowed to wear the kit or accessories of the following organisations:

- Scottish league teams;

- Irish league teams;

- International soccer etams;

- the GAA;

- the IRFU or any rugby teams;

- any other organisations as decided by the Management Committee of the club.

In addition, the South Belfast Youth League, in which most of our teams play, the club does not permit any soccer, rugby or gaelic kit and accessories.

The club has commissioned replica tops which are on sale to members. We recommend that you buy one of these. They should be worn at training and on Saturday mornings and to all Aquinas club events
