What must I have to join Aquinas?
You must bring with you to your first training session:
- a completed membership contract. This can be got from the “Dropdown” menu. Without this form, you are not insured and cannot take part in activities organised by Aquinas Football Club or the Leagues in which its clubs are enrolled.
- proof of age, if you are joining a league team, i.e. either your birth certificate, or your CSA medical card or your passport. If you are joining the under 14s or over, you have to bring a passport. The manager will need to hold onto the document for a day or two as he will need to take it down to the League’s office as proof of your eligibility. The manager will return it to you.
- Two passport photographs, for under 12 to under 18.
- Your training fees. Fees for the 20013/2014 year are £180 payable in full or by three post dated cheques. The manager will pro-rata the charge depending on when you join during the year.
What about kit and equipment for training and league matches?
Training
For training you must wear shin guards. You will not be allowed to train without them.
training takes place at the DUB and Rathmore Grammer school, depending on what team you are in. Slots can be seen at the training tab. Pou cannot, therefore wear football boots but can wear any footwear other than moulded blades.
Saturday mornings; League matches
For league matches on Saturday mornings you must bring your own football boots and shin guards. As above, without shin guards you cannot play. Your manager will supply the jersey, shorts and socks. He will also provide footballs, water bottles and a first aid kit.
Saturday mornings; minisoccer
For 2013/2014 the minisoccer school will take place at the YMCA,.You should bring football boots and shin guards.
Is there anything I should not wear?
Yes.
Aquinas Football Club is open to children from five to fifty five. The club strives to make all of our members feel welcome and valued. Consequently, the club would prefer that you did not wear jersies or accessories that might cause offence to any member. Hopefully, your parents will advise you, accordingly.
In addition, the South Belfast Youth League, in which most of our teams play, the club does not permit any soccer, rugby or gaelic kit and accessories to be worn on saturdays, other than that of your club.
The club has a contract for the supply of teamwear with Teamwear Ireland, see their tab on the home page. They supply a range of training tops. We recommend that you buy one of these. They should be worn at training and on Saturday mornings and to all Aquinas club events
